I am a Greer native where I called Greer High School home for four busy, yet successful and inspiring years. I traveled around a bit in determination to get to Clemson University, my blood runneth orange. After two years and three schools I finally arrived at Clemson only to switch my major three times to finally land in the Sociology department. I am a proud graduate of the class of 2006 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Education. Growing up both of my parents were in Education serving multiple roles within the district. I thought for sure I would not end up in a school after some of their stories. But the more I stayed away, and the various jobs I tried, the more I had a desire to work with young people. Spending time with middle school and high school students for 4 summers at Broyhill Leadership Conferences as a camp counselor led me to pursue working in Education. I began working as a Career Development Facilitator at Greer Middle School in 2007. I was extremely blessed to work at the same school where my mother touched so many lives. I thoroughly enjoyed my three year term there and was sad to see district cut backs leading me away from GMS. Less than a year later and an attempt at a sales job, I had the distinct privilege to begin working at Greer Middle College. I obtained my Masters In Education in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University while at GMC and am looking forward to continuing my education as we are all lifelong learners. I served 15 years as a summer camp counselor having the opportunity to invest in the lives of young people all over the world. I have been married to the love of my life for almost 6 years. We adopted our son in November of 2019 and have been smitten-and sleep deprived-ever since. We have two pups, Kara and Dexter. I am one lucky girl!
I am loving the opportunity to serve students every day as I help prepare them for their futures. Internship is a unique opportunity for students to have the time to explore future career opportunities while having a real world experience at such an early age in their career. I serve as the Student Government Advisor where we are excited to provide events and activities throughout the year to the Student Body. I am also a Co-Advisor for our Beta Club. Going on my 10 1/2 year as a Blazer, it is my strong desire to help lead and direct our students to reach their full potential as high school and college students while providing them with great experiences to remember for years to come. I have the best job ever and I am proud to be a Blazer!
