Candidate Bios for Greer Middle College Charter High School Board of Directors Special Election on Monday, April 24, 2018

Darin Scheidly

Darin Scheidly – GMC has been a part of my family’s life for the past 6 years, graduating one son
in 2016, now another in 2018 and finally one more in 2020. During this time, I previously
served on the GMC board for three years during the planning stages of our new building. This
gave me a unique perspective of watching my three sons navigate through the famous portable
city, finally transitioning to the foundation of a great campus we have today. I know there is
more to accomplish as I have firsthand experience watching GMC’s growth, through interacting
with parents and community leaders and serving as a volunteer alongside those who strive to
make GMC our children’s home. As our current graduating class has created new GMC
traditions, we look forward to our school’s growth by those who follow. I have been fortunate
for the past two seasons to assist coaching the boys’ soccer team and I am dedicated to
working hard for our school, reaching for loftier goals and accolades set forth by our current
administration and board. I am committed to the principles of GMC’s values and know that I
would be honored to join the GMC board again.
Thank you and Go Blazers!

Anne Scott

Anne Scott – As a retired teacher, I am very interested in public education. I taught in
elementary and gifted education for over 30 years. I have a BA from Erskine College and a
Masters from Converse College. Both of my children are current educators in high school
(Chemistry and Math Teachers). I feel a need to give back to the community by encouraging
public education.
