Welcome to GMC! My career began in 1986 when I graduated from Texas A&M (Gig ‘Em Aggies!) with a BBA in Marketing. For the next 18 years, I worked in corporate America for several large and successful companies – including Wal-Mart, Dillard’s, Estee Lauder (Clinique), and Bank of America. In 2003, my youngest sister encouraged me to consider becoming a teacher. I began teaching at Mauldin High School in 2004 as part of South Carolina’s PACE program. I completed a M. Ed at Anderson University in December 2008. I am thrilled to be a Blazer and look forward to bringing very real world experience into the classroom.
My career path mirrors that of my father. He began his career in the oil business in Texas and ultimately retired as a marketing professor from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As a result of both of our careers, I have lived many places – including Lubbock, TX (twice), Richmond, VA (twice), Vandalia, OH, Greenville, TX, Bryan, TX, College Station, TX, Fayetteville, AR, Houston TX, Charlotte, NC and finally Greenville, SC – for the last 18 years! I am married to Christian Bishop and we have a daughter, Bailey who is in 8th grade at Northwood Middle. Uncle “Sam” is our furry family member, a (mostly) lovable Bichon Frise. In my “spare” time, I am a soccer Mom and also love to read, decorate, and entertain and watch college football.
